Our sordid affair began one cold and grey day in the autumn of 2007. Maria (who sings and makes our weird little songs) and Håkon (who plays the double bass and the electric one) had discussed creating a band for a while, and decided that the most suitable people for their little posse were Vegard (electric guitar), Kristian (electric guitar) and Aleksander (drums and other things you can hit with drumsticks). Fortunately, they all agreed to join the experiment, and Sordid Affair was complete.
We play music that isn’t easily described, so the best thing is probably to listen to it yourself and see if you can find a suitable genre in which to place us. Even though we aren’t easily labeled, it seems people like our music, allowing us to play in places such as Tromsø Kulturhus, at Kråkeslottfestivalen, on the Hurtigrute, Tromsø University’s 40 year anniversary (for ca. two thousand people!) and in the Music on Top festival in Luleå, Sweden.
